Golf at Lake Maggiore: Golf Hotel Castelconturbia
The current golf course is featured on the TOP 10 of best golf courses in Europe.
Since 1987, the Golf Club has received some of the most prestigious awards (e.g. Best Golfcourse in Italy in 2012).
The Italian Open has also taken place here between 1991 and 1998 and has featured some of the world best players at the time.
The course record of 66 beatings is currently held by Josè M. Olazabal and Costantino Rocca.
The heathland is difficult to overcome, it is a challenge for real players. The ground stretches over a broad meadow with many gentle curvatures and close valleys.
The Parcours is open, a good hit ball is easy to find, but imprecise blows are punished by heather and gorse.
History. In 1898, the Couturbier Golf Course was made for the initiative of Count Gaspar Voli, it was one of the first courses in Italy.
Voli inspired his neighbor Avogadro di Collobiano with the passion for golf - he instituted a 9-hole course on his estate.
The Royal Family (I Savoia) also visited the golf course, as they went on fox hunting in the Contea di Conturbia.
The golf course remained open until 1963 - at this time it was private and not public.
In 1984, it has been reopened as Golf Club Castelconturbia and became a member of the Italian Golf Federation.
The driving range with 3 holes was inaugurated in 1986 and the 27 holes were completed in September 1987.
The 27-holes golf course was designed and build on an area of 1 million square meters.
Hotel. Our establishment is set in the splendid surroundings of Golf Club Castelconturbia a few km away from Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta and only 20 minutes from Milano Malpensa Airport.
